Chapter 78

Aria stiffened slightly. “I was… I was taken that day…” She started softly, about to explain, to tell her everything that had occurred since that day but the door opened gently and both women turned.

Cole stood there, one arm firmly around Aren’s waist, helping him stand. Aren’s arm was slung over his shoulders. Selena noticed how Aren looked pale and weaker than usual; his jaw was tight against the effort of standing.

Cole and Aren both froze when they saw Selena sitting upright. Aren’s breath caught and Selena’s eyes widened, having so many questions about why he looked the way he did.

Aren looked at Cole with feigned distrust because he had told him Selena was still unconscious earlier but Cole just blinked once, clearly not expecting this either.

Aren slowly pulled away from Cole’s support so Cole instinctively tightened his grip. “Easy…” He warned, worried he might fall but Aren had already let go.
