Cole got on his feet with the passed-out Aria in his arms. “I need to take her back, she’s being poisoned. She needs urgent care.”

Aren nodded in agreement. “Go, I’ll take care of things here.”

After Cole left with Aria, he caught sight of the guard who had first crossed the border without orders on the floor and sighed. “One of you pick him up and go with Alpha Cole, he also needs help, it seems he’s being poisoned too.”

After one of the remaining three guards picked up the poisoned guard, Aren asked the other two to gather animal carcasses so they could mask the scent of the Blackclaws pack guards they killed.

Back at Ironwood territory.

Selena stopped pacing about when she saw Cole carrying Aria in his arms. She rushed over to him, worried, and Cole assumed she was worried about her husband.

“Aren is fine, he’s just taking care of some things in the woods quickly,” Cole informed but Selena knew Aren could handle himself.

“Is she
