Chapter 27

Benny had just served Aiden his morning coffee when Cherry came to her desk smiling. Cherry had been so excited for Benny that she was dating Aiden. Cherry and Mrs. Delta were the only female staff in the company who didn’t resent her for dating Aiden. But Benny didn’t care. None of them had insulted her to her face. The only thing they could do was talk behind her back.

“Today is the day you owe me lunch, Cassie,” Cherry said.

“Is that why you’re smiling at me like that?”

Cherry pulled her close.

“I can’t wait to hear about the last dinner you had with Aiden. You know, you’re so lucky, Cassie. You get to sleep next to all that handsomeness.”

Benny shook her head in disbelief. She enjoyed sex with Aiden but didn’t think that she was lucky to be with him. She despised him and his speeches of striving to be a better man.
