Leah’s POV

My heart stopped beating as a result of the loud knock on the door. My previous demeanor that drowning in pleasure was replaced by fear that they would find out what happened to the two of us.

He’d already met his mate and the Lycan introduced her to the pack. What if the elderly would discover what’s happening between us? I understand that love is not the same as mere pleasure. I know Anaya is the one destined for him, but I’m not lost on what my role is in his life.

Am I just his…. Doctor? Nothing more?

I was about to stand up to see who was knocking, but Amoux interrupted me. His every move is deliberate. However, I should stop him because he doesn’t have any cover on his body.

“Amoux, let me—”

It’s too late now.

Despite my wolf hearing, I couldn’t make out what they were talking about or who he was talking to.

After minutes of waiting, he finally returned to my seat.
