Chapter 36. Leah Is Cooking

Leah’s POV

I couldn’t believe what I heard. I know it’s a long day today, but tomorrow we’ll leave immediately and go to different packhouses. I looked away from Amoux and saw Damon frowning at me.

“How about our date?” His face showed regret before he looked at his shoes.

“A-Ahh, it’s still a long day today. Can we still date if you want?” I felt a numbness in my cheeks because I was ashamed. Why am I ashamed of Damon? Shouldn’t I be disgusted with him?

“Aha! I told you, you really like me, Leah!”

I looked at him sharply because of what he said. What is wrong with Damon? I didn’t know he was assuming!

I was so annoyed that I walked away from him. I should not have said that. He might think that I like him! That’s impossible because I only want Amoux no matter what I do. I walked fast and I didn’t pay attention to him even though he was calling me.
