Chapter 88. War
Damn, that really had my heart hurting. But there was not much I could do. It was not like I could change who I was.
“Sara? Sara?” It was Giveon, and he was trying to catch my attention. “Come on, look at me,” he said as he gently held my chin and turned my face to him. “You’re okay, just breathe.”
It was when he said that I realized that I was hyperventilating. “I’m breathing.”
“Yeah, but slowly.” He wiped some of my tears from my face, flashing me a small smile. “You’re not alone, I’m here. And we’re going to figure this out, okay? I promise you that.”
I nodded, sniffling as more tears fell down my face. But his words made me feel a bit better. As I was about to speak, the ringing of my phone stole my attention.
I pulled out and there was no caller ID. I glanced at Giveon and he gave me a nod as he stepped away.
