Aiden entered his house with a sharp gaze and a jaw that was chattering with emotion.

"You're home already?" said Elena, who looked relaxed while sipping her wine with her father.

"Where's Regan?" asked Aiden without preamble.

Elena frowned and still wore that calm expression. "Why do you ask the widow's son to come to me?" she asked.

"I know Mom took him, so please let him go!"

Elena smiled slightly. "You accuse your own mother of that evil deed?"

"What is this?" Aiden's father's voice echoed in there as Mother and Son argued.

"Mom, please let Regan go!" Aiden said it still in a firm tone.

"You accuse Mom without any proof, Aiden; that really hurts Mom!" Elena said with a sad face, making Aiden again confused, Is it true what Dave said to him? "Because of that woman, you are brave like this for Mom!"
