Chapter 106. Blooded Sheets

Calla stood there in shock. Her eyes unblinking and lips apart. The slap had meant nothing, and she barely felt it. What hurt her most was the news of Rico being shot and in critical condition.

It tore her apart not knowing why he got shot. How he was right now, or where he was. A gut-wrenching feeling tugged painfully from her throat to her stomach. Her fingers trembled, and her knees grew weak.

Valentina’s voice slowly drowned out. Calla didn’t know when the man came and held Valentina, to restrain her. Her feet moved lightly before she could control them. Another step and another, till she was already moving up the steps.
