Chapter 111. Need a Professional
Rico’s grip on the staircase faltered. Each step he took up the stairs sent a stabbing pain to his ribs. He’d left the dining table with very little strength he had left, trying to stay upright so no one would notice he was hurting.
He pulled the hand that clutched his side and stared at it. Blood.
The stitches must have ripped open.
He groaned deeply, forcing himself to stay conscious as his eyes fluttered.
He finally reached the top of the stairs with much difficulty, the pain tearing through him, but he endured it, forcing one step after the other even as his body screamed for him to stop.
“Fuck…” he growled under his breath, his pace slowing as his vision blurred for a moment, and with his eyes fixed straight ahead, he dragged his foot across the floor, refusing to give in just yet.
His legs suddenly gave out beneath him, and he crashed to the ground with a dull thud that knocked the air from his lungs, a sharp groan teared out of him as pain
