Rico had thought showing up here meant Jace would be intimidated and cower away. But the young man remained unafraid under Rico's stare.
“Lyra was…” Jace began, but his words slowly faded. His eyes drifted away for a moment, as if he had been pulled into an old memory. A small smile touched his lips before he looked back at Calla.
