Chapter 90. Bound and Useless
Calla tried not to look scared, even though she was shaking in her pants. She still had the hood over her head, and she couldn’t tell who he was by his voice.
She yanked at the ropes, twisting and pulling even though it hurt. “Who are you? Where’s my brother? What the hell did you do to him?!”
Not knowing where her brother was or what they might have done to him terrified her.
He could be somewhere dark and alone, bawling his eyes out and calling out to her.
She squeezed her eyes shut under the hood, praying that Eli was safe and unharmed.
The man’s laugh came again, quieter, closer. He took slow footsteps around her chair. A hand grabbed the side of the hood, his fingers were rough against her skin, and Calla jerked away hard.
“Don’t fucking touch me!” She snapped, still twisting her arms like she could break out of the bounds.
