As he resumed his remarks while walking toward the bookcase, he added, “I was right all along...” He then finished his statement after reaching the bookcase. “Because I had just recently run into you at the Shangri-La hotel the same night, the news that you had unexpectedly gotten married put a wrench into things. I had no idea that you were already married when I ran into you there. Do you have any recollection of our previous encounter? I was the one who was there with you, Kianna, when you were sobbing uncontrollably and consuming a whole bottle of wine at the same time.”

I am only able to stand there and watch with my eyes wide open, unable to close them, as though the entire world were crumbling and falling apart around me... I didn’t even shake... Suddenly, I discovered that I was utterly paralyzed, and I had no notion what would happen as a result of what I had just heard... I had no idea what would happen.
