Chapter 59. Spin-off (2)

(A few summers later)

Ben’s point of view-

I put our bags in the back of our car, then closed the lid off before walking towards the front. We were finally going to the beach- a good, actual beach. Savannah came running from the house with a picnic basket, followed by a smaller boy, my son Adam, who was very excited.

Savannah is ten now, but she has started to look so much like her mother and my beautiful wife, Carly. “Get in the car, kids.”

Both of them got in, a bit tired since they had to wake up so early in the morning and wanted to complete their sleep in the car. After helping them put on the seatbelts, I turned on the car ac for them so they could relax and sleep off.

Carly came up after locking the door, and she was smiling so brightly. She walks up to me, stopping just a few inches away from me. If only I could have arranged this a bit earlier…

“Ben?”
