Book Eight: Chapter 158
“Indeed I am, child of Mike Radley.” The Fae chuckled. The sound made Callisto think of dead insects being blown across rocks by a stiff wind. The oddly specific mental imagery only further confirmed the danger he now found himself in.
The centaur chewed at his lip. His father had always told him never to speak to the Fae, yet he really didn’t have much of a choice. He looked at his sister with a frown and realized there was a good chance at least one of them wouldn’t be returning home. His analysis of the current situation between his father and the Fae Courts had been inadequate, likely fueled by his own childish desires.
In short, he had fucked up.
“I don’t suppose you would be amicable to releasing us?” he asked
The Fae chuckled and knelt down so that they were eye level. The creature reached out and caressed Callistos’ cheek, the sharp edge of its finger easily parting the flesh.
