Chapter 16. Moving Into His House
Jacqueline was too stunned to speak. What did he mean by his statement? “How can your house be mine?”
“It will be since you’re moving in today,” said Gilbert, without looking at her. He didn’t know why he said so, and it just spilled out of his mouth. He had no control over his mouth and mind any longer. Although it was only yesterday that he had lectured his family to go slow, all logic escaped his mind the moment he saw her. He just wanted her, and that was it. She was moving in with him into his house.
“I’m not doing anything of the sort.” How could he just order her to move in with him?
“It’s not me who’s asking you to. The kids want it and since mom isn’t well, it would help if you moved into our house. I’m usually away on work trips, so it would be a relief to know that they’re happy.” Jacqueline couldn’t decline him. She liked the children, and she had promised to be a mom to them.
