Vera's POV

"How do you feel now?" Jack whispered in my ear, still holding me tightly.

We lay together on the bed, his arm wrapped around my waist, his leg draped over mine. I felt warm and safe, cocooned in his embrace.

He nibbled gently on my ear, and a soft groan slipped from my lips. Wasn’t it wonderful? To wake up in the arms of someone you care about, in peace, in comfort?

I turned to face him, smiling. He could be so romantic when he wasn’t battling himself. I could give anything to freeze this moment. Make it last forever.
