Chapter 7. I Wouldn’t Lie to You

Anita’s POV

Not long after the taxi stopped, I quickly got into the car with Yoong.

“Driver, please take us to the bamboo garden,” I requested.

“Okay, Miss!” the driver replied, glancing back at us. Yoong was surprised to see that the driver was actually one of his subordinates. He gestured to the driver, silently indicating that he shouldn’t reveal his true identity. The driver smiled sweetly, then turned his attention back to the road and drove.

“Why do you want to go to the bamboo garden?” Yoong asked curiously.

“I don’t want to go home, so I thought I’d go there instead. I don’t want to attend the party where my betrothed is supposed to be. I refuse to meet him. You can report it to my mother if you want, but I won’t budge. I will never meet the man I’m forced to marry!” I expressed my frustration, believing that Yoong would inform my mother.

“No, I won’t report you to your mother,” he replied, surprising me.
