Chapter 24
The next morning Nathan rode the cart-horse of Moggie to Heiminster to see Mr. Lawson, anyone who saw him riding out of his yard would have been shocked at this change that had happened to him on his return; This change is more ordinary for a day, as it must have happened to a man in years. He had seldom ever held the reins of a chariot, but one of Muji's head shivers would get them out of his hands. But as he approached his house on his return, he made a great effort to recover and spoke to himself, saying,
"Don't worry about them, boys will be boys, but I didn't think it could be that grumpy, ok ok. Maybe he'll get more wisdom from those bad lads like Will Hooker like these are the ones who led my son astray, he was a good lad until he knew them."
And when he came home he put all his cares behind him when Bessie and his wife met him at the door, and both offered a hand to help him take off his greatcoat.
"Can't he just leave a man alone to get out of his clothes?
