Chapter 12

As Catherine came by us, she paused, "Oh, I..." She waved at us, and I saw her give Sarah a knowing look before saying, "I... I... still have some stuff to do."

"I get it," I said with a smirk.

"What's up with the smirk?"

I shrugged and said, "Nothing really," before entering my workplace.

As soon as the door was shut, I stripped out of my scrubs and into my regular clothing.

A white long-sleeved T-shirt and a black pleated skirt.

Since I rarely had the time to shop for necessities, I never really got into the latest styles.

I packed up Adam's scrubs while we were on the subject of clothing.

I stopped by a dry cleaner on the way to the children's hospital to drop off the coffee-stained garments. After that, I kept on my way to the emergency room.
