Chapter 2. Jennifer Reese
Austin waited for his subordinates to gather information on a woman named Jennifer Reese. Luckily, when he was in Bella's office earlier, he managed to get a glimpse of the documents on Bella's desk. And when he looked through the list of clothing companies participating in his wife's event, he noticed Jennifer Reese's name among them.
Meanwhile, Fin and Ken were dissecting a week's worth of CCTV footage from Bella's factory. The sound of keyboard typing and mouse clicks filled the air as the two subordinates worked diligently.
"Max, set up security for tomorrow. I want to take Bella and Arion to the mansion," Austin said.
"Which villa, sir?" Max inquired.
"The one by the ocean," Austin replied.
"Very well, sir," Max replied before excusing himself to contact some of his subordinates.
Tap tap tap.
"Sir, this is all the information we've gathered on a woman named Jennifer Reese," Ken said, handing Austin a piece of paper.
Austin raised an eyebrow. "Just this?"
"Yes, sir. Someone seems to have hidden her information very well," Ken explained.
Austin looked at the paper Ken handed him. "Jennifer Reese, 35 years old, British nationality, owns a fashion company called JR Factory."
"What kind of basic information is that?" Austin exclaimed, scowling.
Finley brought his chair closer and rolled it over. "Sir, take a look at this," he said, opening the large screen to show two photographs. In one, Bella was seen shaking hands with a woman named Jennifer Reese, apparently just a business acquaintance. But in the other photo, Jennifer Reese was staring directly at Bella with an unfriendly glare as Bella turned away from her.
Austin studied the pictures carefully. "Is she after Bella or me?" he wondered aloud.
"We don't know yet, sir, but it appears that this woman is keeping an eye on both of you," Finley explained.
Austin nodded in understanding. "Keep her under surveillance. If she poses a threat, take action immediately. And find out who's behind her," he instructed.
"Understood, sir," Finley and Kenan replied simultaneously.
"Sir, all guards are ready for your trip tomorrow," Max added, now standing next to Austin.
"Hmm, very good. And provide tight security for my wife and Arion. I don't want anything to get past your watch," Austin ordered.
"Of course, sir," Max confirmed.
"And don't let Bella know about this situation. I don't want to burden her mind. Let's find out more about this woman before we take any further steps," Austin told his three subordinates.
"Understood, Sir Austin," they all replied in unison.
"I'm going to set up some CCTV cameras on every street corner and storefront that Mrs. Bella passes through," Finley suggested.
"And grant access to view the CCTV footage at Bel's factory," Max added to Ken and Fin.
"Alright, Sir Max," Fin and Ken confirmed in agreement.
They both contacted the control room team at Bel's Factory and requested access codes from their subordinates stationed there.
"Use screens 3, 4, 8 and 9 to open the CCTV at Bel's Factory," Fin called out to Ken.
Agilely, Ken operated the touch screen and split a screen back into several parts. There were over 100 CCTV cameras in Bel's Factory.
"Add LCD units," Max exclaimed.
"Okay, sir," Ken replied and contacted someone.
Ken asked someone to bring 40-inch LCDs, 2 units 24-inch LCDs, 10 units and 32-inch LCDs 5 units.
And sure enough, it didn't take long. What Ken wanted was already there.
Ken quickly instructed them to go to their private floor. This way he could control the flow of goods in and out, and Ken didn't forget to inspect the items before they went through the security door.
While Ken was busy installing LCD units from various angles, Finley immediately shouted, "Sir, this woman is in Bel's factory."
"Damn! Don't let her out of your sight," Austin ordered.
Meanwhile, inside Bel's Factory, Bella met one of her customers.
"Madam, the guest is already in the meeting room," Della said to her superior.
"Hmm, okay, Del, don't forget to bring the documents," Bella replied, then gracefully walked to the meeting room, followed by Della.
Tap Tap Tap
A blonde woman in a sexy outfit sat down. "Good evening, Miss Jennifer..." Bella greeted her friendly customer.
"Good evening, Miss Bella," the woman replied.
Bella extended her hand and Jennifer shook it.
After exchanging greetings, Bella, who had already met Jennifer twice, no longer felt awkward.
"So how many outfits are you going to show us this time, Miss Jennifer?" Bella asked.
"Hmm, maybe about seven to ten models, is that okay?" Jennifer asked.
Bella looked at Della. Not that, for guests, they could only submit a maximum of five designs. But now someone was asking for seven to ten models. Even her old clients never asked for more than their quota.
Della shook her head slightly at Bella. She wanted the woman to understand.
"I'm sorry, Miss Jennifer, it's not that we want to refuse. But there are specific rules for invited guests that only allow a maximum of five promo slots," Bella explained, trying to gently deny her client's unreasonable request.
Jennifer sighed, "Hmm, I didn't expect to get only one of five seats. Even though I came all the way from England at your company's invitation."
Bella raised an eyebrow, slightly confused by her client's words, which sounded as if her company was begging to be invited. While, of course, fashion companies from various countries submit their proposals to participate in her company's events. And with strict selection. Companies that fit the theme receive a special invitation to the fashion event she organizes.
Bella still showed her sweet smile, "Yes, I'm sorry, Miss Jennifer, that's the final decision, and it's very clear in the invitation we sent out at that time that each company can only show 5 of their designs," she explained, gently reminding the woman named Jennifer.
Jennifer took a deep breath, "Hufftt... I thought Miss Bella could be flexible, but it turns out she's too rigid with the rules. Should I ask Mr. Austin for leniency?"
"Really???" Bella's voice rose an octave as the woman before her mentioned her husband's name.
"Hmm, true. Perhaps you should learn a lot from Mr. Austin, who is more flexible in running the company and making decisions," she explained.
Della suddenly stood up when she saw her boss being treated unpleasantly. Quickly, Bella restrained Della from acting rashly.
Bella smiled slightly, how could she not? She knew her husband best. And this firm nature of hers was directly taught by her husband. And what Austin emphasized the most was that if the client didn't follow the predetermined rules, there was only one word. Cancel! Even if it meant losing money and paying a penalty.
And now there was a stranger pretending to know her husband best.
"Well, it seems you know my husband very well, Miss Jennifer?" Bella said with a thin smile.
Jennifer nodded slowly, "Of course, who doesn't know Mr. Austin, who is so big in the business world. One of the most influential men in business in Germany," Jennifer explained.
Bella smiled again, "Thank you for your compliment about my husband. From the explanation of the woman in front of her, it was very clear that this woman was only pretending to know her husband. And wanted to use tricks to make herself jealous. But unfortunately, she wasn't the old Bella anymore.
"Hmm, wait a moment Miss Jennifer, I'll ask my husband for his opinion," Bella said and then reached for her cell phone. And pressed one and made a call and then pressed the speaker button.
Ding!
Just one ring tone and her phone was immediately answered by her husband, "Hello love?" greeted her husband.
"Hello Hubby, are you busy?" Bella asked sweetly.
"Hmm... Just in a meeting with some clients, dear. Besides, there's nothing more important than your call, love," Austin replied, making the beautiful woman smile again.
"Thank you, Hubby. Oh yes... I want to ask you something, hubby," Bella said in a soft tone.
"What is it, love? You can ask anything," Austin replied.
"Hmm... love... Do you know someone named Jennifer Reese..." Bella asked to the point.
Jennifer, who hadn't expected Bella to ask such a question, suddenly panicked. She thought Bella was just asking for Austin's opinion about a spot in the exhibit. Of course, Austin didn't know her, they had never even met. So Austin would definitely say no to Bella's question.
"Really? Who is she, love?" Austin asked back.
"Jennifer Reese. She's one of my clients here, dear, but she seems to know you," Bella explained.
"Hmm... Jennifer Reese. Let me ask Max and Ethan," Austin replied.
"Okay, love," Bella replied and waited for her husband's answer.
"..."
"Hmmm, it seems there is, dear," Austin said, making Bella's eyes widen.
