“Yes, yes. I have.” Aria said as she held the phone against her ear. “I made sure to send the emails last night before I left the office. You have nothing to be worried about, I assure you.”

Aria remained silent for the next couple of minutes, nodding at intervals before the call ended, and she turned around to face Eros, who was now doing the dishes.

“I’m sorry, my boss called, and I had to pick up.” Aria began sheepishly. “I didn’t know that—“

“You have nothing to apologize about, Aria.” Eros cut her short gently as he gave her a reassuring smile. “You were supposed to have headed out for work already. It’s not your fault.”

“Okay,” Aria said, unsure of what else to say.

The tension was still there; she could feel it, but she also knew that there was nothing that could be done about it anymore.
