Chapter 20
Keith stared at the woman before him before chuckling at her words.
“You are an amusing woman, Cassandra,” he murmured, covering her hands—which held his shirt—with his. It was times like this that she felt every bit like a woman to him. She felt soft, warm, and supple. And he hungered to bury himself in that warm, inviting softness.
“Not to toot my own horn, but I can be a lot more amusing, I promise.” She grinned. “Still up for that picnic?”
Keith pretended to mull over her question for a while. Of course, he was up. He suggested the picnic in the first place. But he didn’t want to seem too eager to spend time with her. Work purpose, he tried to remind himself. This was all for work. He just wanted- no, he needed to find a cure and send her on her merry way so he could be accepted back into Olympus and could get back the life he had lost years ago.
“I suppose it would be a waste not to go for it. Dalton did prepare a rather large picnic basket,” he grumbled
