Chapter 37

NATASHA’S POV

I was singing a lullaby to the kids with Nana when one of the kids began asking questions.

“Auntie Nat, where did you go?” Claire, who was one of the girls, asked me.

“I went on an adventure.” I said interestingly and watched her eyes shine with inquisitions of my whereabouts.

“Ouu what kind of adventure? Like the one Percy Jackson went on?!” She asked me, making a reference to an old tv show I used to play for the kids when they were a bit younger.

“Oh no, something much more exciting!” I said and made jazz hands.

“Please tell me.” She pleaded and I couldn’t help but tease her a little more.

“It’s a little late but I’ll tell you but you have to promise to keep it a secret, okay?” I told her.

“Okay. I promise.” She said sweetly and I could see so much of my little self in her. Well at least, before my parents left.

I was transported back to a memory from my childhood, one that I hadn't thought about in years.
