HEPHAESTUS POV

My mind kept on wandering to my mother’s words. She knew a human was here in my castle, knowing my mother she wouldn’t want to leave it that way. She would want to find out who the person was because she likes being in control of my life.

It had always been like that since I was a little child. She forced me to eat the food she liked and read the books she liked. In general, she wanted me to always do the things she liked irrespective of my opinion or what I wanted.

I could not let that happen!

What if she had already seen Natasha? My chest aches as I think about it.

I knew Hera very well. If she had seen Natasha that would have been the first thing she would have uttered. But I still couldn't be sure, people change. I had to protect Natasha from my mom.

I was going to be a man, I was going to check on her and settle whatever was wrong. I couldn’t keep chickening out because of my mother, she didn’t deserve such privilege.
