Thanatos was right.

He was a fool.

Keith realized this as he ran down the hallway towards the gate of his mansion. He was a big damned fool. One, How could he let Cassandra Wilson slip through his fingers like sand? She was his key to Olympus. He had known that ever since he saw her in his company, all tattered and terrible as hell. She was a challenge he had to overcome. His last challenge.

He had to cure her insomnia. He was a fucking failure as the god of sleep if he couldn’t.

Two, that wasn’t his only reason for racing after her, and he knew it. Thanatos’ taunts burned deep inside like the butt of a cigarette. Another man. He growled as the mental image of another man burying his face into her pale beauty formed through his head. She would become another man’s woman when she left. Humans weren’t created to stay alone. They needed affection, love, and all the fucking sex in the world, and Cassandra Wilson would find all of that in the arms of another.
