Chapter 61. Spring Water
As Red and Aamon reached the threshold of a cave, they heard the sound of hurried footsteps approaching. Kit threw her arms around Red as soon as she saw her, and she burst into sobs. Then Fiona followed, staggering with her hands wrapped in bandages. Fiona breathed a sigh of relief and hugged Red wordlessly.
"Fiona, are you hurt?" Red was immediately worried about her friend's condition.
"You should ask yourself that." Fiona chuckled. "I'm fine."
"My God, I'm so scared." Kit sobbed. "I thought you were dead. Don't do anything reckless like that again, Red!"
Red's eyes glanced at Aamon, and the young man only silently returned her gaze. It was as if Aamon said, 'I told you so. Red turned her eyes back to Kit and Fiona.
"I'm sorry," Red regretted.
"Come on, you need to fill up. There are leftovers for you." Fiona took Red's hand and led her into the cave.
