Chapter 82. First Kiss

"Good, you've made some progress." Aamon tapped his thumb and index finger. "A little."

Red scowled; it was her fifth day of training. It felt like Red had tried so hard, but Aamon's words disappointed her. Red could be more expressive and make a small protest or complaint. It didn't bother Aamon. Instead, he found Red some kind of entertainment.

"I have to pick up Kit from the hospital. Let's finish training today, okay?" Red asked.

Aamon nodded and then quickly stood next to Red, leaving the girl in a moment of astonishment.

"What's wrong?"

"Don't fly with Ursula."

Red glanced at Ursula, then turned her attention to Aamon. "Why not?"

"I want to come with you. To pick up Kit, I mean."

"You can ride on Ursula's shoulder or in the palm of her hand. It's faster and more convenient." Red complained quietly. "My legs are numb; I'm too tired to walk."

"So you want me to carry you?"
