“This is a bad idea.” Ingrid crosses her arms and glares at her door, like Hollis is just outside of it.
He’s not. He’s in my room, waiting for me to come back after I told him his idea was a bad one and that I needed to get someone else’s opinion first.
“Is it a bad idea because it’s Hollis’s or because it’s a bad idea?” I ask.
“What difference does it make?” She rolls her eyes. “All of his ideas are bad. I can’t believe I smuggled you all the way here, and you’re reconciling with him.”
“What did you think I was coming here for?”
“Eva,” Ingrid says defensively. “Yourself? I don’t know, I just got excited.”
“Well, this is for me.” I sigh. “Kash is my father, biologically. Getting him on our side might not be the worst idea.”
