Luke tried to strike up a conversation with Bernice once they were seated in the helicopter. Bernice just looked at the young man and nodded quickly, then turned her attention in another direction. Lucas glanced at Bernice and Luke, but remained silent and bowed his head.
In his heart Lucas was really surprised, they were in a war situation and should have been focused. Maybe the man named Luke was trying to make small talk. Lucas had guessed that the man was definitely interested in Bernice. If he joined the mission just to get close to Bernice, that would be really stupid. Although quite brave.
"Are you okay?" Elijah suddenly patted Lucas' knee.
"All right." Lucas nodded immediately.
