Chapter 95. The Scars Within

Isaac sighed as he put the last item into his backpack. Tomorrow, he would leave the Washington base. Whether it was the right decision or not, Isaac felt returning to Milton would give him peace of mind. The barracks were empty; everyone had already left for Yukon.

There would be no goodbyes for Isaac's friends. Sneaking away seemed like a better option.

"Isaac?"

The melodic voice immediately alerted Isaac. He turned to the doorway and saw Theresa standing there. He didn't react; he just lowered his face and let out a soft groan. 

Theresa approached cautiously and stopped in front of him.

"I know you don't want to be disturbed," Theresa said gently, clearing her throat. "But there's nothing wrong with saying goodbye, right?"

Isaac was silent for a few seconds before he sighed. "I don't intend to say goodbye to anyone."
