Chapter 4

Mykel’s POV

As I place the last buttons on my sleeves, I picture what her wolf will be. I know she is the daughter of that healing wolf. My grandfather tried to marry her grandmother years ago, but she met her mate, and so did my grandpa, but he still regrets leaving her. He literally found out what she was after he met his mate by accident.

Imagine what joy his own dad felt being a werewolf hunter himself; that is why he is so excited to know there is still hope and so close. We need her not just to stay healthy, strong, and powerful. Something the old nursery stories don’t tell you is that there is always more than just a simple kid’s story.

My cell starts to vibrate, and there she is, my little witch bitch. “Tell me she already got her wolf. The suspense is killing me,” are the first words she says. I know she is dead tired of Susie. Who would blame my sexy girl?

“Sorry, baby, she is still useless. No wolf yet, still not 12.”

I hear her yell on the other side, “She just needs to do one miserable thing, and not even that can she do? Fuck, when she does get the furry monster, she is healing my anger as a human with each hit I give her in her very special cage, all for little Miss Luna.”

I love my girl, Blaze. She is a hot witch with a model figure. She had brunette-colored hair, but after trying to heal my grandpa, she lost some of her power. Healing a wolf after a battle with a wizard is not easy to recover alone. My poor girl hates what happened to her. She has brown eyes and is perfect in every way. She dresses mostly in a fashion which for me is a big turn-on, always in blue.

“Babe, I need to go. I love you.” I don’t hear anything from her end, so I hang up.

I got another call from my grandfather this time. “Yes?” is my reply to his call.

“Are you in a bad mood already?”

I have to breathe a bit. I just can’t handle him at times, and I am not doing a single wrong thing with everyone. “No, grandad, I am just getting ready, and I am growing impatient.”

“Well, I just wanted to call to say if it doesn’t go through, don’t fear. We have planned well, and you have been an excellent boyfriend. Remember, the Red Wolf, or Fire Healer, can heal anything of anyone they choose, just like the story goes. Only the stories don’t say that those who were healed by the red wolf also gain a year of life; they become stronger, fierce, and more powerful,” my grandfather says.

I know this story by heart, but I know it to the point of having my grandfather drooling over it. “For example, let’s say I break my hand after hearing both you and my girl yelling at me, just cause I need to take my stress out on something. Well, Susie, my red wolf, heals me with her healing fire, making me a stronger, fierce, and even more powerful Alpha.”

My grandfather chuckles. “That’s right. Now lastly, the new hunters arrive tomorrow with their families. Remember the deal that was made to them.” He hangs up.

I am Alpha now, even though my grandfather is alive and well. My dad is another story. My trust in this pack will soon end, and I can finally be in a sense of mental peace.

I call my beta Keanu to make sure the rogues we made a deal with are ready to take my wolf to my pack. The only reason I visit so much here is so I can plan this attack and take both red wolves with me. Tonight, my grandfather will finally have his health back, and I will finally destroy this shit of a pack.

“Everything ready?” I speak while taking my things to give them to the Omega outside. It takes all of my willpower to smack the cocky face of that little Omega.

“Yeah, I just arrived to oversee things. Your dad is staying behind to keep things going.”

Not yet. I can’t show my real intentions just when I am so close to being. Alpha Jaime always rats me out; he is on to me, acting like I am head over heels for this bimbo is getting to me.

I finish putting my things in their bag, and as I walk out of the room, I go into the designated areas I placed the explosives. Once her wolf was out, we would take her with us. All was safe and secure. When I walked to the stairs where Susie would walk down, she was pinned to the wall.

Susie’s POV

I hold on tight to Mykel. What Jaime did make me feel so wrong like I was a Barbie doll or something. I never had someone do that to me. With his Alpha Wolf strength, of course, I wouldn’t be able to fight back. I tighten my grip on Mykel, holding back my anger at how he did that in front of everyone.

“Baby, are you alright? Or do you want to go? We don’t have to stay if you don’t want to.” I hear Mikel ask me as we walk to the big ballroom.

“No, my mom came all this way for this, and I really want to have some fun with my family.” As soon as those words left me, he growled at me. I looked up at his expression, and he was angry. What the…?

“Sue! Are you okay?” Kia comes over with a soda for me. I don’t like to drink. I’d rather have soda or coffee, preferably soda. “Alpha Lame had a mini-show with me, and I wasn’t really invited.” Kia breathes heavily, knowing how he could be.

“Well, hey, at least your mom is here with Samie. Still shocked at your stepdad being here. Isn’t he an Alpha?”

I nod at her question. Yep, he is, but his pack lands are near the coast, so he is very far from this pack. I start drinking my soda, waiting for Mykel to say something about what happened, but he just keeps checking his cell.

I stay still, hearing Kia talk with me about different stuff, like the latest she-crushes that Callum keeps getting. Kia is annoyed. It’s cute, but seeing her also gush over him is funny. I have a weird sense of humor. Yet I can’t stop feeling like nobody is really listening to me like everyone is waiting for something from me.

I look at Mykel, who is still in his cell. What is up with him? Here I am, all dolled up and nothing. I tap on his shoulder as he glances over me. I smile, and he goes back to his cell.

“What?” is all he says, with a bit of annoyance in his tone. What did I do now?

“What? After what just happened, that’s all you’re going to say?”

He breathes heavily and twitches his ear. It’s supposed to be my day, and here he is, picking a fight with me, or is it really me?

“There is nothing more to say, he did wrong, and he learned from it. Get over it.”

My smile stays in place, but I feel even worse. Maybe I should just let it go. I am always holding onto things as they matter.

I can’t believe him either. I know that is not the way one acts to their Luna, well, more like a mate in general, but what do I know am neither yet.

“I still can’t believe I get to enjoy this day! Sue, come and dance with me!” Kia says, completely ignoring what Mykel just said.

I give my soda to Mykel, but he passes me without taking it or saying anything, so I walk to the table my mom is at and set my drink, taking Samie with me.

After what felt like hours of just enjoying ourselves, the music is turned off.
