Emery’s POV

I saw his jaws clenched while his expression was so dark.

“Terrence, wait…” I said again, blocking his way to his car.

He looked at me with nothing but coldness. “Get in the car. Gabriel’s inside.”

I looked at the backseat and he’s right. Gabriel was sitting behind the passenger seat.

I swallowed hard and went to the passenger seat.

“Momma!”

I smiled at Gabriel. “Hello, baby.”

I was constantly glancing at Terrence while he’s driving. I was thinking of what I would say later. Constructing a sincere explanation in my head so he won’t misunderstand everything he saw and heard.

His eyes remained dark and cold. The violence in it convinced me that he heard everything that Kreed said and he believed it.

When we reached home, I immediately brought Gabriel to his room. When I went back, Terrence was walking towards the door and he’s ready to leave.
