Chapter 30. A Dinner With the Betrayer

Emery’s POV

I was wiping my sweat while sitting on the couch when Terrence sat across from me. He stared at my face and I shot an eyebrow up, wondering why he’s staring like that.

“Are we cool now?” He asked, not taking his eyes off of my face.

My eyes then landed on the cut on his lips. It’s red and swollen. I sighed and moved to the sofa beside him as I gently touched the cut on his lips. He flinched and whispered a groan.

“Em, it stings.”

“I’m sorry,” I breathe.

He stared at my face and then smiled before he handed me a sandwich. “Here. Let’s have a snack.”

“Thanks.” I accepted the sandwich and examined it.

“It doesn’t have veggies.”

I looked at him and smiled. “You memorized my dislikes.”
