Chapter 38. Sudden Outburst

Emery’s POV

I have to guard my heart. I know the danger of being close to him. It will push me to the pit of hell and that’s the last thing I want to happen. I don’t wanna end up pitying myself and regretting everything. I don’t wanna end up blaming myself for not being able to stop myself from falling. I should prioritize my mother’s company. Besides, my relationship with Terrence is purely lies. Nothing is real. Even his treatment, it might be fake.

“You sure you’ll stay here tonight? I might stay at the conference until midnight.”

I nodded at him while lying on the bed. He’s standing in front of the life-size mirror, fixing his tie. He looked very handsome and no woman could ever resist him especially if he showed them his charm.

This is funny but these past few days, I always find myself appreciating his facial features and even his personality. If this isn’t a sign of falling in love, I don’t know what this is.

“I wanna rest for tonight.”
