Chapter 16. Car Trouble
A few hours later, I was able to do all the work that I needed to do for the day. Bradley made sure that I got three cans of the blood drink and I made sure to down two. I was packed and felt good. Not just because I fed, but also because I had had a productive day.
Evening hours were rushing and the yellow and golden brilliance from the setting sun shone in my corner office. The floor-to-ceiling windows made it even more surreal. It was like I was in a movie. It was beautiful.
The city’s skyline looked breathtaking and the view plus the stunning sunset seemed to reward me for all the office work that I did today.
I smiled happily and took out my phone from my handbag. I dialed a familiar number and in three rings, the person answered. “Lisa! Baby, is everything alright? You just visited me yesterday, I did not expect a call from you until tomorrow.” She chuckled, and I could not help but smile warmly as if she could see me.
