Chapter 20. Risky Plans

I clutched the phone and tears built in my eyes. “Bradley, I just want you to stay the hell from me. I–I can’t deal with all this. I really can’t.”

“Lisa, I am lost right now. Do you want me to come over?”

“No,” I breathed the word out. “What part of stay away from me don’t you get?” I raised my voice a bit. 

“Is this–is this because of the whole vampire thing? You have to tell me because I’m going crazy here.” I could hear the stress in his voice. And the sound of a car engine starting was evident in the background.
