Zaky was already on his feet when Eric entered the room, parchment and old notes scattered across the table. “There is a way to stabilize her,” he said quickly, pushing his glasses up his nose. “Not a cure yet. But I can slow the damage and seal the fractures temporarily. It’ll take constant energy and precise timing, but it’s possible.”
I lifted my head. “You mean… stop it from getting worse?”
“For now,” Zaky nodded. “Think of it as buying time. Weeks. Maybe months, if I’m careful.”
Eric’s gaze snapped to him. “And the effects?”
Zaky hesitated. “It won’t be easy on her. The strain alone…”
“I can handle strain,” I cut in. “I’ve been handling it.”
