Chapter 24. Unexpected Salvation

That afternoon, Emma decided to go out to buy a few necessities for the household. Although she usually paid great attention to her appearance whenever she went out, today she chose a very simple outfit: jeans, a white t-shirt, and a pair of sneakers. With her hair tied up and her face free of makeup, she looked completely different from her usual glamorous self.

However, this simplicity didn’t diminish her natural allure.

As she stepped out of the supermarket, carrying two bags full of groceries, the gentle afternoon sunlight bathed the surroundings, creating a peaceful atmosphere. But that peace was suddenly shattered by a loud scream from a distance.

Emma stopped immediately, her heart racing. She quickly looked around, trying to locate the source of the scream. Within seconds, her eyes landed on a scene that made her heart skip a beat: a baby stroller was careening dangerously down a slope. Nearby, a large truck was speeding toward it, and if no one intervened,
