Chapter 50. The Substitute Angel

Ricard sat beside Lyra, trying to soothe her with his calm and gentle voice. However, Lyra’s panic was becoming more apparent. Her eyes remained red and swollen, and her lips trembled slightly whenever she tried to speak. Fear and tension were etched on her face, causing Ricard to feel increasingly concerned.

“Lyra, it’s okay. You don’t have to worry about performing,” Ricard said, his voice as soft as he could make it, though he had already realized that Lyra was in no condition to perform.

Lyra shook her head, attempting to speak, but her voice was caught in her throat. “I… I can’t… I’m so sorry, Ricard… I really can’t perform…” she almost choked on her words, overwhelmed by her panic.

Ricard sighed softly, placing a hand on Lyra’s shoulder, his eyes filled with empathy. “It’s all right, Lyra. This is an unexpected situation, and you don’t need to push yourself to perform. We’ll handle everything; you just need to rest and calm down.”
