Chapter 45

Lyca’s POV

“What exactly is going on? Who conquered Nightingale’s kingdom?” I inquired as I carefully walked towards the chamber where the queen had murdered my father.

“If Nightingale falls, Queen Annabelle will not stand by and watch… She’ll make her move, and that’ll be my opportunity.” I said it, but deep down, I couldn’t stop being grateful for what had happened. Then I arrived at the chamber where the worst event in my life occurred.

I couldn’t stop my hands from shaking while holding back tears as I opened the door. I feel like I’ve been transported back to the night the queen murdered my father right in front of me.

When I pushed the door, it grunted.

The room was dusty, and cobwebs clung to every nook and cranny. Clearly, no one was using it. My attention was then drawn to my father’s bed.

I couldn’t stop my tears from falling as I approached the bed. “Father… I miss you…” I sobbed as I rubbed the mattress.
