“What exactly is going on? My heart remains…” Lyca frowned as she looked at the heart in the box. It pulsed as it was surrounded by black energy.

Xavier sighed and accepted the box. “I’m not sure what’s going on… However, there is a solution to what is happening to you.”

“Should I approach Crystal?” Lyca retorted, but quickly shook her head to reject her suggestion. “I should consult with my mother!”

Xavier sighed, closing the boss and placing it in the drawer. “I’m not sure what’s going on, but I think this is a good sign…” he declared as he drew Lyca into his lap.

“What are you up to?” Lyca inquired when Xavier placed his ear to her chest.

“Perhaps this heartbeat is meant for me… It started to beat again because you wanted me beside you,” Xavier smiled.

Lyca couldn’t help but smile when she saw the joy on Xavier’s face. “You’re right… it’s all your fault. Hearing Crystal claim you makes me nervous. I’d rather perish than lose you…”
