“Sebastian,” I said again, slowly this time, giving him the chance to correct himself before I detonated. “How did you know?”

He inhaled. A long, steadying breath.

“Jack.”

My heart stopped.

“Excuse me?” I whispered. I heard the name he mentioned. I was shocked. Never knew Jack and Sebastian had enough closeness for him to have discussed me with Sebastian. Or could it be that Sebastian asked him to give him an update about me? Was that why he came for my school event? Does that mean he’s using Izzy to get updates about me to report to Sebastian?

“He called me this morning,” Sebastian continued carefully, eyes steady on mine. He disrupted the series of thoughts going on in my head at that moment.

“Just chill, Dahlia. Don’t beat him to his own explanation. Don’t be impulsive.” I pleaded with my reasoning. Sebastian continued.

“He told me what happened with Adrian. That you were upset. He didn’t know exactly what he did that got you
