The moment she disappeared up the stairs, I lost the ability to concentrate on… well, anything else.

Kenna was yelling something about me being “useless backup” in their game, and Diego was swearing dramatically at the TV like the characters owed him child support. But all I could think about was Dahlia… her soft smile, the sway of that damn dress, the way she kept humming while eating roasted plantain like she was tasting heaven itself.
