I jump scared at the noise of the bathroom door opening revealing my redhead friend who is watching me with wide eyes and gaping, I cannot help but notice that his reaction makes me more confident with myself.

“Don’t you think you’re overreacting?” Barefoot swirl.

“Exaggeration is one of the things you need to enter that place. Honey, you look wonderful!” she jumps cheerfully, pulling me a laugh.

I’m dragged back to my room as she rolls my shoes in search of one that matches my outfit, I hesitate when she brings a pair of heels, I got from my mother on one of my birthdays when I was in Brazil.

“Maggie, I don’t even know if I can stand on those heels!” I grumble, being forced to sit on the bed when she starts putting her shoes on my feet.
