“But don’t give up hope! I happen to know a couple of ways to get past these beasts,” Thunderbird said confidently. “For the phantom dogs, I have this.” He pulled out a small silver whistle and placed it on the table in front of Julie and Ryan. “This whistle will emit an extremely high-pitched noise that can damage the dogs’ ears and distract them so that you can get away if they are trying to attack you.” Ryan picked the whistle up and looked at it closely. Then he put it up to his lips and blew. None of them heard anything except for the air passing through the metal.
“We can’t hear it because our ears don’t pick up that high of a pitch, but don’t worry, I assure you that it will severely damage the phantom dogs’ ears.
