Devin’s POV

Let me tell you something.

I am not a patient person.

When someone says I need to wait I get even more impatient.

And this morning, I’ve been told to wait for Gabriel while he runs some usual errands, and then he would take me to his boss, so I can get protection for me and my mother and as my payment, I would work for the mafia.

Since it was our protection on the line I had no problem with some dirty work here and there.

But Gabriel had a plan.

Recently he received a task, to get rid of some young woman whose identity he kept hidden from everyone.

He said it was for our own safety and I believed him. I might come from a wealthy family but the mafia was no secret in London, in truth, it was a real deal. If you value your life, you don’t play games with them.
