As Claire continued to stare at me, waiting for me to give her an answer. Staring blankly back at her, I was dimly aware that she couldn't tell if I was lying or telling the truth but I don't feel comfortable lying to her. It looked like the universe was on my side because just as I opened my mouth to make up a lie, the telephone rang from somewhere in the room.

"That must be Jet, I have to go and get that." Not waiting for her to respond, I turned to leave but stopped. "You do trust me right?" I asked her.

"I do not know why but I do. You seem to be the only person here I can trust, which is why I need you to tell me the truth, I cannot sleep well at night, I feel like a huge part of me is missing. I feel so empty and I fear I will never go back to normal, "she explained, forgetting all about the phone for a moment.
