My protest died down my throat as Jet moved in on me, instead of tying me up like he threatened, he caged me against the bed overboard with his body. I glared up at him, my face setting into an angry scowl. “Can we not do this?” I said, knowing I might fold with the way he was trying to distract me.

“Not a chance.” I responded, letting out a sigh. “I do understand that you have a hard time expressing yourself and being vulnerable but my parents kept a huge part of their lives a secret from me and you of all people know how that turned out.” I reached to cup his face. “I hate not knowing the part of you that existed before me.”
