Chapter 59
When Scarlet heard Alexander sharing the details of his intimate dinner with a woman, the implications of his words sent a shiver down her spine. Fear gripped her as she contemplated what might happen after dinner. Would he, too, turn on her and attempt to harm her? Pushing aside her trepidation, she forced herself to respond to him.
"Just let me know when," she told him and then she hastily left Alexander's unit.
As she returned home, a sense of relief washed over her. Unaware of the brooding man sitting on the sofa, she was surprised to see Sebastian.
“Hello, Sebastian,” she greeted him.
“Where have you been? When I came home, this house is empty!”
"I had coffee with Alexander," she replied, trying not to let his unfounded accusation affect her.
"Are you that itchy to see another man after me?" he retorted, his words stinging with jealousy and irritation. It infuriated her that he would jump to such conclusions without any basis.
