Chapter 10

I was startled from where I stood and stared into his dark eyes. He was serious and his jaws tightened over and over again. For a moment, I felt scared. At the timbre of his voice earlier it was as if I had broken his patience.

“W-what are you saying? You promised-”

“I didn’t.”

I was stunned and strained to wonder if he had promised. Stupid Celine. I removed his hand from my chin and averted my gaze. I retreated to the sink to get away from him but he followed me and put his hands on either side of the sink.

“Loren!” I was sick when I was locked in the middle of his arms.

He raised an eyebrow and bent down to make our faces line up. “Did you enjoy flirting with that guy?”

I frowned and stared at him. “I do not know what you’re saying-”

“Bullshit.”

I bit my tongue as he whispered that in a deep and full voice. Fuck. Why are my knees shaking?!
